Importing custom gift boxes from Wenzhou into Southeast Asia

Humidity, cube, and labelling differ by market. A Longgang collapsible rigid that works in a dry warehouse can warp in a port-side store if you skip the wrap spec. Name the destination country — do not treat “SEA” as one climate.

Climate is a spec, not a mood board

Write the destination city or country and whether the box sits in air-conditioned retail or an open, humid back room. Lamination — gloss, matte, or none — follows that use, not a colour palette. A wrap that looks calm on a studio table can scuff or cockle when the lot lives near a port.

Wenzhou Taishan Printing Co., Ltd. (温州泰山印业有限公司) converts folding gift boxes, cartons, and corrugated at No. 187–239 Cendong Road, Longgang, Wenzhou, Zhejiang 325802. Founded in 2000, the plant ships export cartons from that address. “Southeast Asia” on an RFQ is several climates. Name the market so the wrap and the shipper can be discussed against that market.

Gloss film, matte film, and unlaminated wrap behave differently in humidity. Foil and spot UV scuff if the inner pack is loose. Write whether the box will be handled in an open wet-market back room or a mall cabinet. That line is cheaper than a warped first sea lot.

Structure and cube for the ocean leg

Collapsible rigid saves cube when it ships flat. Assembled lid-and-base and stay-up MDF do not. If the program must fold for the container, say so next to the inner size after the box is erected. Do not mix those families in one cube estimate.

Master-carton count, pallet or floor load, and whether mixed SKUs share a shipper belong on the same RFQ as the gift structure. A retail photo of the rigid box does not carry those numbers. See packing notes as converting lines, not dock improvisation.

  • Destination country and indoor vs humid storage.
  • Flat-ship vs stay-up structure.
  • Inner size, quantity band, master-carton plan.

Language on the box and on the mark

Artwork owns the language. If you need English plus a local language, send both in the file, not in a voice note. Product-facing copy and master-carton shipping marks are two files. Do not assume the wrap PDF is the stencil on the shipper.

Spanish copy on taishanprint.com (/es) is for buyers who quote in Spanish. It does not replace the language legally required on a pack sold in a named Southeast Asian market. Name that market on the RFQ.

If the gift wrap is English-only and the shipper mark is bilingual, say so. Warehouses read the master carton. Shoppers read the wrap. Mixing those two jobs in one PDF is how the wrong language lands on the dock.

Documents: request current scans

Commercial invoice, packing list, and any FSC claim you put on the PO are the usual conversation. We will not invent a certificate for customs. Catalog marks — FSC, quality system, high-tech enterprise, printing license — are not contract numbers. Ask for the current scan when a claim is required for this lot.

Domestic pharma or food packaging in the catalog is reference, not a licence transfer onto your import SKU. Food-contact or labelling documents follow the destination you named. This article will not invent them.

What we will not invent for the border

We will not invent HS headings as official advice, import duty, or a preferred port. Those belong with your broker and current tariff tools. A converter in Longgang quotes converting. Your forwarder quotes the ocean and the entry.

We will not invent country-by-country sales figures. The catalog states coverage of multiple countries and regions. That is not a ranking of Southeast Asian markets on this page.

Sampling versus the sea lot

A structure sample that survived a dry office in Longgang is not automatically a monsoon-proof wrap. If humidity is the risk, say you need the wrap and lamination judged against that risk before the sea quantity. Sample days are not production days.

Reprints still need the same destination line. Board lots and wrap lots move. If FSC or contact claims remain, request scans again. Last year’s PDF crop is not this year’s entry file.

Sample versus production lead time is a separate article on this site. Do not treat a three-piece structure sample as the ocean calendar. Confirm both clocks on the RFQ when the first sea lot is the real deadline.

How to send the RFQ

Use taishanprint.com, [email protected], or WhatsApp +86 138 6598 7984. Send structure, millimetres, board, finish, quantity, destination country, packing, and claims together. A cluster factory still needs a dieline.

Wenzhou Taishan Printing is the converter on Cendong Road, not a bonded warehouse in the destination country. Lead time is plant production plus the freight you book. Write the RFQ that way and the quote can describe the lot that will actually leave Longgang.

Put this on the RFQ

Catalog ranges only. Confirm on sample. Do not invent certificate numbers or a stock SKU from a photo.

  • Destination country and whether boxes ship flat.
  • Inner size, structure, and master-carton plan.
  • Certificates: request current scans for that market; do not invent numbers.

Catalog ranges only. Confirm on sample, board lot, and destination spec. Certificate numbers are not invented here — request current scans on the RFQ.
